Snap World

The purpose of this project was to create a mobile gaming device with a game as the release title to go along with it. Within this project, we needed two meet two of the sustainable development goals. These were sustainable development goal 2 which promotes zero hunger, and sustainable development goal nine which aspires to have growing industry, innovation, and infrastructure. For our project, we took inspiration from Tamagotchi style game, cube world. Within the original game, people were able to buy many Tamagotchis which were stick men in cubes. Each had a unique personality based on the colour cube bought, but the real uniqueness of the product came about when you attached them together. The stickmen would be able to go through to other Tamagotchis and interact with them, and so we took large inspiration from this when coming up with our own product.

Our consoles would be small devices that, on your own, you would have a farm to grow food and sell it, with this money you could upgrade your house to new tiers, which fulfilled both sustainable development goals. Within your house you were able to play minigames, and the more times you upgraded your house the more minigames you unlocked. We decided there would be four initial release console colours (with more planned) that would dictate what kind of minigames you could unlock within your house. To be able to play other kinds of minigames, you would have to find someone with a different console colour to yours and you could snap them together and visit a friend's game. When visiting them, you could play minigames together, with a maximum of four people.

For my role within the project, my task was to create the logo for the console and the game. Along with this, I was also to make the design for the controller that would be used to play the game, below you will be able to see how I developed each one.
